I am asking YOU for help by ASKING YOU TO CRY OUT TO GOD for help!
Today is the 70th Annual National Day of Prayer
“LORD pour out Your LOVE, LIFE, and LIBERTY.
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” - 2 Corinthians 3:17
Our nation is the greatest nation in the history of the world. I say that because I believe with everything in me the United States of America has been used by God to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ all over the globe more than any other nation that is ever existed. Our country has done more than any other to promote freedom and liberty, and has been a beautiful source of hope throughout the globe for its almost 250 years of existence.
But, as you know, we are a nation adrift from its moorings. We have forgetting God. The changes in our nation and its movement away from the things of God just in the past 10 years, have been unprecedented. As Christians, this should not surprise us.
In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. — 2 Corinthians 4:4
So what are we to do?
First, remember your TRUE IDENTITY as a Christian! You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's on possession! (1 Peter 2.9) That is a promise to the CHURCH, not to the United States of America.
Second, remember that the ONLY VICTORY THAT ULTIMATELY MATTERS has already been won and that the Gates of Hades will not prevail again Christ and His church! (Matthew 16.18)
Third, come to a CONVICTION right now about whether you will FOLLOW THE CLEAR COMMANDS OF SCRIPTURE - even in what we are learning in our study in 1 Peter - or follow the pattern of this world.
“Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor” - 1 Peter 2.17
Finally, PRAY. If you do nothing else, STOP FOR A FEW MINUTES TODAY and PRAY along with me! Pray for the list of things above! Pray alone. Call someone and pray with them. Pray around your dinner table or with your D-Group. BUT PLEASE PRAY! Will you do that for me? For you? For your marriage? Your family? The lost? And our nation?

Oh, and one last thing. AFTER you pray, ACT!
Specifically, as I have mentioned several of the past few Sundays, if you have not already done so, please reach out to our Senators and ask them to VOTE NO on the 'Equality Act'.
We are called to be a people who are used of God to be change agents in the culture and time and place God has places us. So, even as we faithfully do all of the above, let us never forget that there is NO TRUE HOPE APART FROM THE GOSPEL!
