An encouraging reminder from Jeff Daukas, Cornerstone Elder

The world is spinning in the midst of COVID-19. Men and women with all kinds of initials after their name readily have stated their amazing confidence in all areas of life has vanished when facing the prospect of facing the reality that this disease knows no borders, economic status, gender, race, or religion. People fear what they do not understand or control. Yet, as a sealed believer in Christ the independence we crave standing on a hill of sand offers no hope like the dependence found standing on the Rock of our Savior! The Bible is clear in Romans 10:17 that, "Faith comes from hearing, and hearing from the Word of Christ". Our enemy knows the message of salvation through Jesus is a very real and tangible event - One that once experienced begs to be shared with others! So it makes sense we are attacked this way. Isolation is attempting to prevent the spread of the Gospel, yet not even the gates of hell will prevail against the message of the Cross! If even one person hears this message and gives their life to the Lord then it is worthwhile! God promises us also we can "rise on wings like eagles" (Is 40:31) when we follow Him. Stand on that truth today and let your words and actions make others notice something different about the way you live. An old Bible teacher once told me, "When you walk in a room people should see Jesus, and when you leave He should be able to stay and remain as a new friend to all." That cannot happen unless we are intentional in how we live His Truth.
When confronted by the Almighty as He asks why He should allow you in Heaven, what answer will you give? Nothing this world has to offer compares to the joy and security of knowing Jesus as both your Lord and your Savior! He is the answer as He paid the price for all the sins in the past, during the present, and for the future!
Treasure this Truth if you are His, and shake off the fear the enemy wants you to dwell with all day. Remember, God himself promises us in His Word in Romans 8:31b, "If God is for us, who can be against us?"
